When do I pay the tournament entry fee?

All Premier Prospects tournaments are first pay/first play. Your entry into an event is not complete until you have paid the entry fee or the gate fee. The division may sell out prior to the payment deadline. The number of available spots in a division may fluctuate depending on the needs of all divisions that share the same field size. If you choose to mail a check to avoid online credit card fees please call us and let us know, do not leave a message!

Do we supply our own baseballs?

Premier Prospects will provide official game balls to the umpires prior to the start of each scheduled game. These baseballs shall serve as the primary game balls for all tournament play.

Team Responsibility:
Each team is required to maintain a supply of baseballs in good, playable condition and have them readily available upon request from the game officials. This ensures the continuous and timely progression of the game in the event that additional balls are needed during play.

Division and Classification Consolidation Policy

In the event that an individual age division or competitive classification (including but not limited to AA, AAA, or Majors) does not receive a sufficient number of team registrations to support independent bracket play, the Tournament Director reserves the sole right and discretion to combine divisions and/or classifications as deemed necessary to ensure the efficient operation and completion of the tournament.

All reasonable efforts will be made to preserve competitive integrity when divisions are combined. Notification of any such consolidation will be provided to affected teams prior to the release of the official tournament schedule.

By submitting registration and payment, participating teams acknowledge and agree to this policy. No refunds, credits, or adjustments shall be issued solely on the basis of division or classification combinations made in accordance with this provision.

Rules

We play exclusively by the rules listed on the playpps.com website (unless specified on the info page).

https://playpps.com/baseball-rules/

PITCHING LIMITS – INNINGS PITCHED

Premier Prospects Colorado tournaments use an innings-pitched system to regulate pitcher usage. These limits apply to all games played during this 3-day, 4-game guarantee tournament, including pool-play and bracket/championship games.

11U/12U Division

A pitcher may pitch a maximum of 6 innings in a single day.

A pitcher may pitch a maximum of 8 innings during the entire tournament.

If a pitcher throws 3 innings or fewer in one day, the pitcher remains eligible to pitch the following day.

If a pitcher throws more than 3 innings in one day, the pitcher is not eligible to pitch the following calendar day.

13U/14U Division

A pitcher may pitch a maximum of 7 innings in a single day.

Calculating Innings Pitched

Pitching usage will be calculated by outs recorded:

1 out = ⅓ inning

2 outs = ⅔ inning

3 outs = 1 complete inning

Only outs actually recorded while the player is pitching count toward the player's innings-pitched total.

Example: A pitcher enters with one out in an inning and records the remaining two outs. The pitcher is charged with ⅔ of an inning, not a full inning.

Three-Day Tournament Limit

The 8-inning tournament maximum is cumulative across all three tournament days. Innings do not reset when pool play ends or when bracket play begins.

Examples:

Friday: 3 innings / Saturday: 3 innings / Sunday: maximum 2 innings

Friday: 4 innings / Saturday: ineligible / Sunday: maximum 4 innings

Friday: 2 innings / Saturday: 3 innings / Sunday: maximum 3 innings

A pitcher who has reached the tournament maximum may remain in the game at another defensive position but may not return to the mound.

Removal and Re-Entry as Pitcher

Once a pitcher is removed from the pitching position, that player may not return to pitch in the same game, even if the player remains in or later re-enters the game at another defensive position.

Responsibility for Tracking Pitching

Each team's head coach is responsible for knowing and tracking the pitching eligibility of all players. Tournament officials may maintain pitching records; however, the absence of an official record does not relieve a team of responsibility for complying with these rules.

Coaches are encouraged to verify pitcher usage with the opposing team and/or tournament scorekeeper immediately following each game.

Pitching Violation

Use of an ineligible pitcher may result in:

Immediate removal of the pitcher;

Forfeiture of the game;

Suspension or ejection of the head coach; and/or

Additional disciplinary action by the Tournament Director.

The Tournament Director has final authority regarding pitcher eligibility, calculation of innings pitched, and enforcement of these rules.

Player Safety

These limits establish the maximum pitching permitted by tournament rule and should not be interpreted as a recommendation that every pitcher should throw the maximum allowable innings. Coaches remain responsible for the health and safety of their players and are expected to consider fatigue, prior pitching workload, physical condition, and any additional rest recommendations applicable to the individual player
