What We Do-

We're committed to promoting the Game of Baseball! We promote the game and the players through our Championship Events. By providing teams and their supporters with high quality venues and well managed tournaments, teams compete with the best amateur baseball clubs in the Nation.

When do I pay the tournament entry fee? 
All Premier Prospects tournaments are first pay/first play. Your entry into an event is not complete until you have paid the entry fee or the gate fee. The division may sell out prior to the payment deadline. The number of available spots in a division may fluctuate depending on the needs of all divisions that share the same field size. If you choose to mail a check to avoid online credit card fees please call us and let us know, do not leave a message!

Do we supply our own baseballs? 
The PPS Onsite director will provide game balls but coaches need to have extra balls available upon request from the umpire. 

Rules
We play exclusively by the rules listed on the playpps.com website.
We play all 13u events at 60/90 unless otherwise noted
We do not allow metal cleats on any turf fields or temporary mounds.

All Brackets winners and runner up will receive team PPS Championship Rings, Championship Banners

Trunk or Treat

All family and friends are encouraged to participate in Trunk or Treat during the tournament.

 

Team Costume Contest

All teams wanting to participate in the team costume contest can check in at the director’s tent any time during the day on Saturday.

The winner will be announced Sunday Afternoon and will receive one team free entry to any Premier Prospects Tournament for the 2025/2026 season.



Can we bring outside food and coolers?
Yes, participants and fans are allowed to bring outside food and coolers excluding alcohol. Some parks may not allow them. 

Can we bring our pets or comfort animals to the tournament?
YES, if the pet creates a distraction or interferes with game play,  you will be asked to leave the premises 
Event Staff reserves the right to request pet removal at any time 

Emotional Support animals are not Service dogs and are not permitted in the playing areas.


When are our rosters locked and what do I do if a parents forgets/neglects to sign the waiver prior to the cutoff?
All rosters are locked on the Thursday evening prior to the event. All players must be listed on the public view teams page by the cutoff. Players that do not have signed waivers by the cutoff are not eligible to play! 

Behavior at the events
PPS/BSV has a zero tolerance policy towards disrespectful and adverse behavior. Any fan, parent, player or coach will be ejected from the event for adverse behavior towards a tournament official or umpire. 

Where will we play? 
PPS utilizes full turf, half turf, grass and skinned fields in and around the listed locations

Do I need team insurance?
Yes, if you did not buy your policy through Premier Prospects Sports you must add PPS (entity below) as an additionally insured. You can do this free of charge by contacting your insurance provider. We must receive your insurance by the Thursday prior to the event. Insurance must be uploaded prior to Friday at 2pm or you will be removed from the event. PPS only accepts PDF format.

Protesting Violations & Penalties

  • It is each team’s responsibility to report any pitching violations by informing the umpire and filing a protest with the League or Tournament Director.

  • A protest must be submitted immediately after the violating pitcher records an out beyond their allowed limit and while they are still in the game.

  • If the violation occurs on the last recorded out of the game, the protest must be filed before the umpire and protesting team leave the field.

  • Penalty: Any violation results in the immediate forfeiture of the game.

Additional Pitching Rules

  • Pitch Counts: In major events, pitch count limits may be used if approved by the Tournament Director.

  • Mound Visits: Each team is allowed two (2) coaching visits per inning to the mound. If a coach visits the same pitcher twice in the same inning, the pitcher must be replaced.

  • Pitching to a Batter: A pitcher must continue pitching to a batter until one of the following occurs:

    • The batter is out

    • The batter reaches first base

    • The inning ends

  • If a pitcher starts an inning, they must face at least one batter until that batter reaches base or is retired.

  • Injury Exception: If a pitcher is injured, the umpire has the discretion to determine whether they must continue pitching to the batter or not.



Extra Innings Rules

First Extra Inning:

  • The last batter from the previous inning will be placed on second base.

Second Extra Inning & Beyond (Texas Tie Breaker):

  • The inning will begin with one out.

  • The last three batters from the previous inning will be placed on base as follows:

    • Last hitter from the previous inning → First base

    • Hitter before them in the lineupSecond base

    • Hitter before that in the lineupThird base

  • Normal substitution rules apply to these base runners.

  • Play will continue until one team leads at the end of an inning.
